365 Photo Project - Everything November

It's that time again to look back over all the photographs taken this month.

As the seasons change there is definitely less visual interest, or should I say less colorful things around to be inspired by, however some of the trees in the Boston area managed to hold on long enough for me to capture them still this month, but more and more of photos I see are becoming indoor themed probably because of the dramatically dropped temperatures in the Boston area.

335/365 Photo Project - French Grammar Book

French Grammar Book

Other than photography my other hobby is learning French. Looking back over the year I'm not sure which hobby I've had more success with, have I become a better photographer or a better French speaker over the course of the last twelve months? I think both of those are up for debate ;p

334/365 Photo Project - Suburban Street

Suburban Street

Today's photo is yet another example of my not being able to find the time or inspiration for anything else but a dull photo of what could be any street in the USA. How many days are left of the year? ;)

333/365 Photo Project - Construction Cranes

Construction Cranes

If you need a crane to help you construct something, how do you construct the crane? Well that answer has been handed to me over the passed few days, you use another crane! I considered cropping this to remove the items at the left and right but that removed a lot of the interest from the frame I thought so went back to the untouched photo for posting.

331/365 Photo Project - Banana Macro

Banana Macro

With my lack of inspiration palpable today I grab my DSLR and closeup lens and head for the fruit bowl, again! ;) Unlike my previous trips to the fruit bowl I didn't find any items past their prime and rotting but this banana which was still very tasty.

Taken with the Pentax K200d with the Pentax DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL lens , with a close-up +10 filter attached in MF. No post processing, the dust spot on my kit lens is still evident on the lower right hand side of this shot.

330/365 Photo Project - Suburban Traffic

Suburban Traffic

It seems like there's no good time of the day or week to be on the Boston area suburban roads these days, even getting out on early Sunday afternoon is no guarantee of smooth ride especially as the holidays upon us. This shot was taken while the car was stopped a traffic light, don't drive and shoot photos kiddies!

329/365 Photo Project - Mall Christmas Tree

Mall Christmas Tree

This area malls Christmas tree was towering above everything else and it was one of only several lined along this stretch of shops. Taken from a crouched perspective to the tree an even grander look. The 'Black Friday' sales may be over but that doesn't mean the crowds were any less crazy today; note to self stay home the entire Thanksgiving week next year!

328/365 Photo Project - Moon Fail

Moon Fail

Early AM today the clear skies exposed a beautiful moon, so I grabbed my P&S Cam and snapped this shot. Needless to say that I was very dissappointed looking at the shot on my Laptop the next day, unfortunately I didn't take another picture to post so this is it!

Taken with the Canon PowerShot SX230HS in landscape mode, flash did not fire.  No amount of post processing could save this one.

327/365 Photo Project - Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

Our  dinner consisted of 6 courses, starting with Cheese Terrine and ending in Pecan pie and I am about to explode so no longer explanations behind today's posting.

Taken with the Canon PowerShot SX230HS in auto mode, flash fired in some of these shots.  Combined in Post Processing. Disclaimer: The last image in this montage was taken on Thanksgiving eve, but added for completeness.

326/365 Photo Project - Pecan Pie

Pecan Pie

Tis the season to be happy and eat lots and lots of pie, this homemade pecan pie may not make it through the night to see Thanksgiving though. Unfortunately I'm make a rather rookie mistake of having the on camera flash shadowing the lens in the frame.

Taken with the Canon PowerShot SX230HS in portrait mode, flash fired.  Color corrected and cropped in post processing.

325/365 Photo Project - Bare Tree Lined Sidewalk

Bare Tree Lined Sidewalk

As my year of taking photos draws ever nearer to an end I find myself continuing the theme of revisiting scenes I've captured previously to see how they have changed through the seasons. Today's photo of a tree lined street was first captured in July 7th  when temperatures in Boston were much more pleasant.

324/365 Photo Project - Keyboard

Keyboard

Being too busy to get overly creative for a photo today and being stuck at my laptop keyboard it seems only appropriate that the very keyboard keeping me from being creative be the subject for today's photo.

322/365 Photo Project - Vine Of A Different Time

Vine Of A Different Time

These ivy vines had caught my attention earlier this year in this blog post, but today they didn't look quite as impressive. Time is unkind to us all it seems.

321/365 Photo Project - Margaritas

Margaritas

Celebrating my sister-in-laws birthday we hit Border Cafe to start the weekend with a bang, and come Saturday some of us would feel that bang more than others. I have officially decided that Peron is my favorite Tequila brand ;)

319/365 Photo Project - No Trespassing

No Trespassing

This view of the rail tracks near Tufts university are fenced off and rightly so, this however doesn't seem to stop some of the local youths from taking a short cut across the tracks sometime. One of these days someone will make the news for the wrong reasons I'm sure.

318/365 Photo Project - Apple Mac-ro

Apple Mac-ro

With the news that Apple is starting production on the iphone 5s next month I couldn't resist making today's theme a poke at them with an Apple Mac, Apple Macro that is.

Taken with the Pentax K200d with the Pentax DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL lens , with a close-up +10 filter attached in MF with post processing to remove dust spot.

317/365 Photo Project - Mystic River

Mystic River

The sun was shining, the air felt like spring and the fall colors were in full bloom today. I'm told by local area weather experts that this won't last, so make the most of it!

316/365 Photo Project - Flying The Flag For Veterans

Flying The Flag For Veterans

With Veterans Day being this weekend I thought it apt to capture a flag flying to honor the veterans, unfortunately there wasn't much wind to whip up the flag

315/365 Photo Project - Autumnal Sun

Autumnal Sun

It may well have been bright and sunny today but if you were outside you certainly knew it was autumn and I think converting today's photo in to B&W with the dark silhouette of these trees captures the brisk harshness of the air.

314/365 Photo Project - Well Hello There

Well Hello There

I wasn't going to be allowed to get an extra 10 minutes of sleep this morning if our cats had anything to do with it. Thanks Asta!

313/365 Photo Project - November Surprise

November Surprise

It seems like everyone in the Boston area was caught out by this unpleasant November surprise. I didn't welcome having to shovel the pavement and driveways before heading out to work in the freezing temps this morning.

312/365 Photo Project - First Snow

First Snow

Well we all knew it was inevitable but the first snow was going to arrive in the Boston area sooner or later and as evident by the coating on these cars in our neighborhood it has arrived.

311/365 Photo Project - 2 minutes

2 minutes

When traveling throughout the US on vacation of the past few years it has always shocked me how many cities beat Boston for public transportation facilitys, and now finally the MBTA has brought the T in to the 21st century by posting the wait time for commuters on (most) of its stations.

309/365 Photo Project - New Pano Software

New Pano Software

Today I started looking for and found a new cool piece of software on the Google Play Store for Android Phones called DerManDar (DMD) Panorama  that makes taking horizontal panoramas easier without needing any post processing. Today's shot was take from my favorite armchair using this software, and I don't think it did too bad a job. I look forward to trying it out on my next Boston photo walk.

308/365 Photo Project - Fall In To The Sun

Fall In To The Sun

While out on today's photo walk, a very short walk because of the cold the sun shining through the now very brown leaves of the trees caught my eye.

307/365 Photo Project - Flying The Colors

Flying The Colors

The contrast of this flag flying not so high amongst these fall colored trees caught my eye for today's photo.

306/365 Photo Project - Sandwich Truck

Sandwich Truck

I pass this truck nearly everyday as I pass by the local area college and am often tempted to try it . I've not had the best experience with getting food from sandwich trucks in the past so have shied away from it for now.

Taken with the LG Optimus Elite, cropped to remove distracting objects from the frame in post processing.

365 Photo Project - Everything October

As the year progresses and the weather turns less agreeable it is becoming more and more difficult to remain inspired and get even a semi-interesting shot each day. However, the fall season did make for some great landscapes, one of my favorite types of photography.
