New Beginnings

Well it's that time of the year again, as one year comes to end and another is about to begin I bet I'm not alone in looking at getting back in to a favorite hobby again, in my case looking for new ideas for a photography project.

'Tis the season for reflection

Determined to get back in to photography I have signed up to 3 different Flickr photography group challenges, each of which I hope will re-motivate me to pick up that DSLR and those interchangeable lenses that have been collecting dust (hopefully not literally collecting dust) and get out back out there.
This group gives a theme for each week, the themes start with A and going through to Z (2 times over for 52 weeks of the year 2015). The photos to be posted must follow the theme but can have any interpretation of that theme. This the group I am most scared of, ha.
The second group I've joined doesn't have a theme, the only requirement is to post 1 photo a week, each week for the next 52 weeks.
The third and final group I've joined is a little different to the others. It requires following the same theme for the entire length of the project and for those participating to post 100 photos over the course of 2015. With no more than 2 posts a week. The theme I have chosen is panoramas (the taking of several photos along the horizon and stitching them together in post).

I will be posting my efforts of course in each group pool, on Flickr itself, but also on my blog where I am aiming to go in to more detail as to process and what I saw in each frame in more detail.

Not a lot has changed in my equipment since my last real photography project back in 2012 and '13, I am still a proud owner of a Pentax K200d DSLR and various interchangeable lens. My camera phone has improved some since I was actively online here, now having a ZTE with 13 MegaPixel lens but I am hoping to avoid posting camera phone photos. I aim to always have my point&shoot, the Samsung WB250f, close at hand when not actively out on a photo trek.
